The journey, which started in Yassiada, has moved to a global dimension with the organization of Sharm el-Sheikh and will now host the participants on a cruise ship. We talked with Cüneyt Yalınkılıç, General Coordinator of PERCON, about PERCON's vision, goals and contributions to the sector, which make job interviews efficient with a one-to-one appointment system and strengthen them with social ties. Explaining the details of the project, Cüneyt Yalinkılıç said that his goal is to turn Percon into a Turkish brand.

Prosentez has been providing media services to the industry for many years. If we need to talk about maritime specifically, what are the solutions you offer to your business partners and the maritime sector? How do you carry out studies for the development of the sector and ensuring cooperation?

As someone who comes from sports journalism, I have been a media consultant to institutions such as the Turkish Football Federation and the National Team for 11 years. At that time, we were one of the companies that launched the first websites in Turkey; we prepared the personal websites of many football players and important names from the sports community. We have taken on a leading role in digital communication at a time when social media did not exist yet.

Especially in the maritime sector, we have signed an important first by implementing GISBIR TV, which is the first sectoral television channel in Turkey. In this respect, we add value to both our business partners and the industry with original content production and innovative media projects.

What were the basic needs that led you to develop this model during the establishment process?
I am someone who loves firsts. My childhood friend, the founder of Pin Drink, once said to me: “Put me in the same room with a buyer, there is nothing I can't sell.” This idea inspired me.
I thought why shouldn't I apply a similar model in the maritime sector and decided to implement the “Perfect Connection” (Percon) project. Our aim was to bring together the buyers of shipyards and shipowners in the same environment with the companies that offer goods and services to them. The most important point here was that people would definitely come together in the same place. Dec. We organized the first organization in Yassiada: we brought together 40 buyers and 80 suppliers in private rooms with the opportunity of one-on-one meetings. Dec. The participants were satisfied and we saw that we were on the right track.
Then we decided to take the project further. We wanted to do it abroad, but we canceled our Athens plan due to visa obstacles. Instead, we chose Sharm el-Sheikh, which can be visited without a visa and offers a holiday atmosphere.hen we decided to take the project further. Instead, we chose Sharm el-Sheikh, which can be visited without a visa and offers a holiday atmosphere. 70 buyers and more than 120 suppliers, whom we took by private plane, held one-on-one meetings here for three days. This organization of about 200 people also attracted great attention. As we see the satisfaction of the participants, our motivation to carry this project further every time increases. As our main sponsor said, “Will space be the next step?” he's being made a joke.
We also continue our way by putting it on all the time. In today's competitive environment, it is very critical for companies to access the right connections. What are the most concrete gains for the companies participating in PERCON?e also continue our way by putting it on all the time.
In today's competitive environment, it is very critical for companies to access the right connections. What are the most concrete gains for the companies participating in PERCON? How would you summarize the contributions that stand out in the feedback of the participating companies, such as business development, supply chain optimization or new Sunday expansions?
One of the biggest problems of the maritime sector in the international arena is the inability to adequately reach foreign Sundays. However, even at a time when the Internet and communication channels are so developed, we see that Turkish companies are struggling in foreign Sundays. One of the main reasons for this is that the opportunities for socialization are limited. When people see each other only by phone number, e-mail address or name, they naturally prefer to work with those from their own country or environment. However, when friendship and social ties are involved, that person no longer becomes just a name and becomes a trusted friend.
Since I observed this deficiency at fairs, I thought it could be eliminated in our organizations. In our first event, we only had one foreign participant. In our first event, we only had one foreign participant. However, at the meeting in Egypt, this number increased to 16; as buyers and suppliers.
We do not follow trade relations, this is not our field. Our job is to bring them together. Dec. However, thanks to our friendly ties, the feedback we received from both domestic and foreign participants was very positive. After the event, we were very pleased to hear about companies selling goods to India, companies that have signed major projects in Azerbaijan, or that Turkish shipyards have made purchases from foreign companies. Because this shows that our organizations have achieved their goal.

Which criteria did you prioritize when shaping the participant profile? the participation of 65 approved purchasing companies increases the reliability and effectiveness of the event. In 2025, we increased this number to 70. Now our goal is to reach 90 buyers at Percon 2026. Our most important criterion here is to bring together Decently the “Champions League” of the sector. We have included the most competent names in Turkey on both the shipyard and shipowner side in the purchasing group by selecting them. At this point, what we paid particular attention to was that the participants were not only authorized but also had technical knowledge. Thanks to the industry companies, they sent us the most appropriate names in this regard. The most important difference of Percon 2026 will be the significant increase in the number of foreign buyers. So far, 12 Greek shipowner and shipyard representatives have confirmed their participation. This number is already a fairly strong start and we expect it to increase further by the end of the year. Our goal is to create about half of the 90 buyers from foreign companies. If we can include 45-50 foreign buyers in the organization, this will be a great contribution for both Turkish suppliers, the Percon brand, as well as GISBIR and our other sponsors who support us.

Which regions or sectors in particular do you expect to see more representation from? When you look at it from the point of view of the participant profile; in which areas (shipowners, shipyards, equipment supply, technology, academia) do you observe that Percon creates more value?
We are trying to maintain the shipyard and shipowner balance as much as possible. Because a significant part of the suppliers provide services to both sides. For this reason, we are planning the number of buyers on both the shipyard and shipowner side in an equal and balanced way.
“Thanks to the appointment system, time will be used in the most efficient way”
One-on-one, pre-planned meetings are one of PerCon's strongest aspects. How will the organization of these meetings work in the cruise concept? There are examples in this field that have been done for a long time in the world; for example, MTB has been held for about 20 years. I got to know MTB after I got into this business, but I saw that its structure was quite different from ours. Today, I am very happy to hear that Percon is mentioned as a competitor to MTB in the industry. Because competition is always an element that accelerates development, and I believe this situation will reflect positively on us. Why shouldn't Turks also be able to create a worldwide brand?
My biggest dream is for Percon to become an international brand. Such a success will make a great contribution not only for us, but also for our country. It will mediate the greater recognition of Turkish companies by foreigners. On the other hand, I do not want to limit Percon only to maritime. Still, our flagship will always be maritime. We also have new projects for Percon in the near future, but I want to keep them a surprise for now. Because once they are revealed, their magic diminishes. I still have original and never-done-before ideas in my mind, such as organizing a cruise, Flat or Sharm
by private plane. Of course, these are risky projects, but taking risks also increases the excitement of the job.
What would you like to add finally?

If it weren't for their support, I'm sure Percon would not have grown this much and become this well-known today. We are grateful to GİSBİR.
Of course, all our sponsors are very valuable, but GISBIR's place is different. He takes care of the organization by giving his name, that's why we proudly call it “GISBIR Percon”. We wish this cooperation to continue for many years. I would also like to thank you and your publication organ Sea Business World.
