In the maritime industry, maintenance and repair processes are not merely technical operations; they are critical engineering activities that require flawless management of time, cost, and safety. With its engineering-driven approach, rapid response capability, and end-to-end service structure, Hasgem stands out as a reliable solution partner for shipowners and operators. Offering a wide range of services—including ship maintenance and repair, technical service, underwater operations, supply, agency, and project management—Hasgem’s vision, quality philosophy, and 2026 goals were discussed with Habib Şükür, Founder and General Manager of Hasgem.

Habib Şükür emphasizes that the company was founded with the mission of “providing fast, accurate, and engineering-based solutions for vessels.” According to Şükür, Hasgem’s most distinctive strength is its ability to design fully customized maintenance and repair scenarios, rather than offering a “single-type service package.” Each vessel arrives with its own operational history and set of needs, he explains, adding: “Our aim is to create plans that minimize downtime, optimize cost, and guarantee quality.”

Defining quality as Hasgem’s central value, Şükür describes this approach as “preventing errors before they occur, rather than correcting them afterward.” He highlights that all processes are carried out in compliance with IACS, ISO, and OEM standards, reinforced by a dual-layer quality control system. On the sustainability side, Hasgem adopts energy-efficient, environmentally conscious, and low-carbon operational planning.

Within Hasgem’s broad service spectrum, technical service, steel construction, mechanical maintenance, electrical–hydraulic works, NDT testing, laser alignment, and underwater services occupy a significant role. Şükür notes that underwater operations are conducted with class-approved equipment, certified divers, and robust safety procedures—pointing out that their coordinated approach with classification societies in IWS operations provides shipowners with major advantages.

On the supply side, effective stock management, collaboration with certified suppliers, and fast logistics planning stand out. Şükür states that their “express delivery” chain—established to meet urgent demands—was a key factor in many shipowners choosing Hasgem in 2025.

Şükür also explains that each maintenance-repair project is coordinated by a single project manager from the moment a request is received until final delivery. He emphasizes that engineering assessment, scope definition, shipyard selection, class compliance, supply, execution, quality control, and final documentation are all managed within a fully traceable system, providing shipowners with significant time and cost advantages.

Describing 2025 as “a year of accelerated growth in both capacity and customer diversity,” Şükür notes sharp increases particularly in mechanical maintenance, steel works, pipe fabrication, and emergency intervention demands. For 2026, investment in new workshops, test and measurement equipment, additional class certifications, and digitalization projects take priority. Şükür adds that a unified operational management platform with real-time customer reporting will be launched in 2026.

Habib Şükür concludes by summarizing Hasgem’s mission: “Our business is not merely about repair; it is about securing and sustainably strengthening our clients’ operations. This is what makes Hasgem a true solution partner.”
